What it proves

Approved programme size and actual disbursement are different concepts.

How to deploy: Use EFF+RSF cumulative disbursements (~US$4.8bn) to support: Approved programme size and actual disbursement are different concepts.

Draft — not reviewed

What it does not prove: This is a cumulative total across two facilities at one date — EFF plus RSF — so it cannot be read as EFF progress alone, and it is gross inflow to the sovereign, not net external financing once repayments to the Fund are counted. Against SBP reserves of about US$17.1bn in May 2026, it is a buffer contribution, not a balance-of-payments solution.

Memory hook: US$4.8bn by 8 May 2026 → disbursed, not the US$7bn headline

Rebuts the claim: "Pakistan has received US$7bn from the IMF" — the approved ceiling and the amount actually drawn are different numbers.
