Frequently asked questions

How many compulsory papers are there?

Six papers of 100 marks each. Muslim candidates take Islamic Studies; non-Muslim candidates may take Comparative Study of Major Religions instead.

How are optional subjects chosen?

Optional subjects are arranged in groups. Candidates pick subjects worth 600 marks in total, following the group rules in the official FPSC syllabus.

Is there a screening test?

Yes. Candidates first sit the MCQ-based Preliminary Test (MPT) and must pass it to appear in the written exam.
