What it proves
Large working-age population is demographic potential, not automatically a dividend.
What it does not prove: The 15-64 bracket is a birthday count, not an economic one: it includes students, homemakers, the long-term ill and everyone outside the labour force entirely, so 56.9% measures potential supply and not participation. It is also a share of a rising total, so the proportion can stay flat while the absolute number needing work grows every year.
Memory hook: 56.9% → over half the country is working-age; far fewer are working
Rebuts the claim: "Pakistan's demographic dividend will automatically lift growth" — the dividend is conditional on absorbing those workers, not on their existence.
