What it proves
Agriculture remains macroeconomically important.
What it does not prove: A 23.44% share of value added is not a 23.44% share of workers or livelihoods, and because it is measured at current prices the share can rise in a year when food prices outpace prices elsewhere without a single extra tonne being produced. It also conceals composition: 62.45% of that value added is livestock, so 'a quarter of GDP is agriculture' does not mean a quarter of GDP is crop farming.
Memory hook: 23.44% → a quarter of GDP, yet most of it is livestock
Rebuts the claim: "Pakistan has already structurally transformed out of agriculture into services" — a sector still worth 23.44% of GDP in FY2025-26 cannot be treated as residual.
